In conjunction with the annual Martin Luther King Day celebrations in the United States, the Mines National Society of Black Engineers, together with industry professionals, organized a panel discussion on January 20th to commemorate the late civil rights leader. The event took place at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.

Emile Ndikum Student Emile Ndikum, who assisted in coordinating the event, expressed his anticipation of maintaining the momentum and dialogue fostered during the occasion through a LinkedIn post.
“Creating a space where students could connect with leaders who are actively shaping their fields made the day feel especially meaningful,” Ndikum stated.
“Watching everyone engage, ask thoughtful questions, and build genuine connections reminded me that events like this matter because they help bridge the gap between where we are now and where we hope to go.”
