The visitors took the lead in the opening stages of the match through an own goal scored by Marumo defender Marvin Sikhosana in the 10th minute. Richards Bay were the better side in the opening half as they enjoyed more ball possession.
Marumo’s performance improved in the second half and found the equaliser through Bheki Mabuza in the 59th minute.
Marumo were denied by the crossbar 14 minutes from time, but the two sides could not the separated, and the match ended in a 1-all draw.
