This as runners make their way towards Pietermaritzburg.
In the men’s race, Samula Moloi, also South African, is setting the pace for the field.
He has just passed the wall of honour, which is a permanent memorial dedicated to those who finished the race.
The wall is located near Drummond, the halfway point of the epic Durban-Pietermaritzburg ultra-marathon.
