South African soccer fans continue to pay tribute to Bafana Bafana midfielder Jayden Adams, whose body was found on premises in Scotsche Kloof in Cape Town on Saturday morning.
The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
He recently returned to the country after playing for Bafana Bafana at the World Cup in the United States. This is what Capetonians had to say.
“I would like to say it’s a huge loss to the football fraternity and especially to their family, to his family, because he was a breadwinner. As we know in Cape Town, in order to survive drugs, you have to play sports. It’s a very sad reality. He had a bright future. I saw a clip of him on social media; he wanted to play for Liverpool. That’s stuck with me because I could see myself in him as a young sportsman.”
