The case against a 22-year-old accused of murdering two-time world boxing championZolani “Last Born” Tete, has been postponed at the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court in the Eastern Cape to 25 August 2026.
Tete was shot dead outside his home in Mdantsane on Friday at the age of 38.
The matter was postponed allowing two other suspects, who were arrested on Sunday, to be brought before court.

(@SAPoliceService) Eastern Cape boxing promoter Luyanda Kana says the boxing fraternity had been eagerly awaiting Tete’s return to the ring in November but were robbed of his talent.
“I didn’t expect Zolani to die like that. But I’m happy that the police did their work arresting the culprits and I’m happy that today you are in the court to see who did this. What will happen next. All in all, that I can say I’m happy.”
