Africa in the Rock­ies, head­quar­tered in Boul­der, Col­orado is a busi­ness that gath­ers and dis­sem­i­nates infor­ma­tion about the African com­mu­ni­ty in the Rocky Moun­tain region of the Unit­ed States. 

This infor­ma­tion then becomes acces­si­ble to those that need it. Because of such infor­ma­tion, it becomes easy to be able to access, con­nect and build con­nec­tions with the vast and diverse com­mu­ni­ty of immi­grants and peo­ples of col­or in the region. An abun­dance of such infor­ma­tion is avail­able on the orga­ni­za­tion’s website. 

After the 2019 Africa sum­mit orga­nized by Africa Agen­da, the orga­ni­za­tion wrote about the work that Africa Agen­da is doing in the com­mu­ni­ty, includ­ing work by Africa News Mat­ters. In sum­ma­ry, a writer for Africa in the Rock­ies said the following:

“Africa Agen­da, a Den­ver-based non-prof­it held a sum­mit to dis­cuss accu­rate report­ing of Africa last Fri­day, for a “fun and mean­ing­ful night of great dis­cus­sion. Jour­nal­ists, polit­i­cal, non­prof­it and busi­ness lead­ers and oth­er spe­cial­ists on Africa…(will) explore the chal­lenge of African news and craft news agen­das to ben­e­fit both Africans and Americans…Drawing inspi­ra­tion from the Oba­ma Administration’s his­toric and high­ly suc­cess­ful 2014 U.S.-Africa Lead­ers’ Sum­mit, Africa Agen­da believes that African com­mu­ni­ties need to work with their coun­ter­parts around the world to fos­ter under­stand­ing that strength­ens the foun­da­tions of a pur­pose­ful African continent.”
