Heavy rainfall has caused landslides in Kenya’s western Rift Valley region, leaving at least 21 people dead and destroying over 1,000 homes, officials reported. In a statement posted on X on Saturday, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen said that at least 25 people with serious injuries had been airlifted from Elgeyo-Marakwet County to the city of Eldoret for treatment, while around 30 others remain missing.
