Africa Agenda sends hearty congratulations to Africa Development Promise (ADP), which recently celebrated 10 years of impactful work in Colorado, Uganda, and Rwanda.
At a 10th anniversary luncheon on August 15th in Denver, Monica Labiche Brown, ADP’s founder and executive director, said the organization’s programs support 12 agricultural cooperatives in Uganda and Rwanda. In 2021, the organization expanded its work beyond agriculture to include vocational training, computer literacy, and micro-business development. This work, she said, has directly impacted an estimated 1,200 people and indirectly impacted about 5,000 others.
From Vision to a Thriving Reality
“I think the thing that we have witnessed that has been really significant is mindset change.”
While she still leads as the current executive director, the organization announced plans for Nazrawit Medhanie to become the next executive director after LaBiche Brown retires sometime in 2025.
“For me personally, the time has come to hand over the reins. As the founder of this organization, I understand that true leadership includes knowing when to step back and allow a fresh perspective to guide the organization forward.”
