Sudan funeral attack kills at least 40 as fighting speads into Kordofan region

An attack on a funeral gathering in North Kordofan’s capital El-Obeid killed at least 40 civilians and injured dozens more, the UN said Wednesday, as the two-year war pitting Sudan’s army against the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) intensifies.
