Stampede at state funeral for Kenya opposition leader Odinga kills two, injures dozens

Two people were killed and dozens were injured, many seriously, in a crowd surge at opposition leader Raila Odinga’s state funeral in the capital Nairobi on Friday, a day after police opened fire at a separate memorial, killing at least three. Odinga’s death creates a leadership void, with no clear successor as Kenya approaches a potentially volatile 2027 election.
