Nigeria court jails Nnamdi Kanu for life

A Nigerian court has convicted separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu on terrorism and related charges after a decade-long legal saga. He was handed four life sentences, to be served concurrently. While prosecutors had sought the death penalty, Judge James Omotosho noted that executions are now “frowned upon.”
