Fifty schoolchildren escape kidnappers in Nigeria, more than 250 still captive

Fifty of the more than 300 children kidnapped by gunmen from a Catholic school in Niger state managed to escape their captors and have reunited with their families, a Christian group affiliated with the school said Sunday. Armed attackers on Friday took 303 children and 12 teachers captive in one of Nigeria’s largest mass kidnappings to date.
