Defending Betway Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, are inching ever so closer to an unprecedented ninth consecutive title.

The Brazilians extended their lead to five points after beating Polokwane City 3-nil at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

Orlando Pirates who are second, have a match in hand.

Both teams will be in action later this week — Sundowns up against Kaizer Chiefs, while Pirates have to travel to Stellenbosch FC.
